Alpines are resilient plants and there are many ways of growing them in your garden with only a little maintenance.

March and April is the best time to plant out pot-grown alpines, the soil is moist and starting to warm up which allows the roots to settle in before the hotter, drier summer months.

Highly versatile they can be grown in rock gardens, raised beds, pots and containers and window boxes.  A stone trough would look stunning planted up with a selection of alpines.

Varieties available at our Garden Centres include thymus, saxifraga, iris, achillea, lithodora, primula, erigeron, campanula and the ever popular and well-known aubrieta.
