Dining at St. Johns
At St. John’s Garden Centres, we believe in bringing people together over delicious, locally sourced food. Our cafes and restaurants in Barnstaple and Ashford proudly use local suppliers wherever possible, ensuring that every meal is freshly cooked and packed with flavour. Whether you're after a hearty breakfast, a light snack, or a freshly prepared lunch, our menu offers something for everyone, with options to suit all dietary preferences, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan dishes. If you have specific dietary needs, please feel free to contact us before your visit, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your requests.
Opening Hours:
Monday-Saturday: 9am-5pm (Breakfast: 9am-11am | Main Meals: 11.30am-3pm | Selected items until 4pm)
Sunday: 10am-4pm (Breakfast: 10am-11am | Carvery: 11.30am-2.30pm | Main Meals: 11.30am-2.30pm | Selected items until 3pm)
We welcome well-behaved dogs on leads throughout our garden centres, and they’re welcome on our patios, though they are not permitted inside our restaurants (except for service dogs).
The Conservatory Cafe, Barnstaple
The Conservatory Cafe at St. John's Barnstaple is a fantastic place to meet up with friends for a coffee and a slice of cake, homemade by our fantastic baker, Sandra! Whether you're in the mood for a hearty dish, a light bite or an indulgent ice cream milkshake, we've got plenty on offer.
What's more, our Barnstaple store is home to Jungleland, a perfect place to keep your little ones entertained before or after a meal!
Garden Room, Ashford
The Garden Room at Ashford is a light, bright space for light bites and hearty meals. What's more, when the sun is shining the al fresco dining areas are the place to be. The tasty treats are paired with a fantastic play area for children, updated for 2024, and a giant bench which makes for a photo opportunity.
This Christmas, you can even enjoy breakfast with Santa on the 7th, 14th and 21st December! Bookings will open shortly.
