St. John’s Santa Band’s fundraising for Christmas 2023 was for the RNLI. As a coastal town, Barnstaple is surrounded by three lifeboat stations — Ilfracombe, Clovelly & Appledore. All three play an essential part in the keeping of our coastal waters safe, rescuing those in danger & educating others on the importance of safety on our beaches.
St. John’s Santa Band & it’s scenes are mostly created from scratch, using repurposed materials by our resident maintenance supervisor, John (pictured left) who can always make something from nothing! The outfits are also handsewn, tailored by Hilary (not pictured), who donates her time every year to the Santa Band, making sure they look stage ready!
St John’s would like to thank RNLI Ilfracombe Lifeboat Station for hosting John, Siobhan (Marketing), Nick & Pam Oliver on a tour of their station & a trip aboard the Shannon Class lifeboat! We would also like to thank our customers for giving generously to this essential charity, responsible for saving lives at sea.
